I'm back again . Basically as of late I've been having a little problem; I transferred my system into a coolermaster centurion and haven't turned it on in awhile. Recently, I've been noticing that something in my computer is making a horribly high pitched squealing sound. I'm 99% sure it's not the fans, as I've switched them around god knows how many times (even did this to the PSU fans as I suspected them of being guilty - el cheapo!) so I've come to the conclusion that it is in fact the HDD. A bit of googling revealed someone with the same problem, and other forum users telling him that his HDD was about to die. I sincerely hope this isn't true, as no HDD = No coursework = No new system. So, any advice? The 5 80mm fans in the case arent bothersome at all, in fact theyre rather relaxing - but I can't sleep with my PC on anymore, and it's driving me up the wall.
Advice, well if ur HDD is dying, back up ur work immediatly! And get a new one (obviously). They are a lot cheaper than they were before
Well everything seems stable, it just whines, which is annoying as hell ( ) and gives me a constant headache. Like I said, the only reason Ive got that idea is because googling brought that particular topic up (on a Dell forum, admittedly ) As for getting a new one, I can't afford it (£60 is hugely expensive for me) until I get my new system, which is whenever I finish my coursework, which counts on HDD stability. Catch 22, anyone?
