    Hi everyone,

I was wondering what software is available if at all, that can test hardware? Something that can test the memory, hard drive, graphics even the motherboard? My PC is crashing a lot at the moment (see post in Tech Support thread called PC Randomly Crashing) and I am trying to rule certain hardware out before I go and replace anything.

Any suggestions would be really helpful.

    Many thanks.

Get Seatools for DOS to test hard drive (boots outside of Windows :)). And MemTest86+ for memory. As for the others, I don't of software that can test those.

Run long generic on the hard drive, and long on memory. Should find any errors :)

Furmark or any Benchmarking utility like 3D Mark 11/Vantage should be adequate for testing GPU stability :). People generally use Intel Burn Test and Prime95 for CPU testing.

+1 to Prime 95 or intel burn test i find prime95 finds errors quicker on the sandybridge series intel processors and burn test quicker on core 2 based.

Be careful with furmark as on some gpus it can cause a thermal shutdown in conditions that would never occur in normal use, that said it's still probably the best graphics test out there.

Your best bet is to get a copy of Ubuntu or something onto a Live CD, then boot off that and use the inbuilt diagnostic software. Memtest86+ is already built in, and Ubuntu has its own testing suite to check for errors with the entire system. And if it really comes to it, you have a disk partitioner there too.
