Hi bit-tech, Havent seen the hardware guide for this month. Is there going to be one, considering there's not much thats happened this month apart from Fermi, which I doubt you'll recommend in any build?
I am guessing its probably just going to be the same as last months which was pretty much the same as the month before that.
It's not our fault! If we were building a system, it's what we'd honestly use. Don't expect GTX 480s in SLI just because we havn't changed anything around for a while.
Don't worry Baz, I'm not suggesting you change the guide just for the sake of it. In fact, I think its a testament to how those pieces of technology have aged so well.
aged? it's only been a couple month! 8800GTX, now that aged very well. if wasn't for power/heat, it could still be considered a mid-range card
Be fair Wuyanxu, i7 has been around for a while, and the 5870/5850 around 7 months. That is a long time in technology terms
The new hardware Replacement for old need more one or two months, even more longer. Every month have new and that isn't best. So i think the hardware may have a litte new but not most.
basically he is saying that even with new hardware each month the previous technologies still stand there ground in performance and it takes a while for them to fall behind. The i7 isn't really that old in terms of hardware release, and if i remember bit's guide uses a i7-860 on a P55 board for its gaming workhorse which is the sensible option to purchase. remember hardware is generally release ever quarter of the year, well unless your nvidia and technically you release when you dam well feel like it, then shift all the naming around on old products.
The core PCs haven't changed a lick really - only prices which have gone up for UK peeps because the pound is in the *******. Our US friends got a better deal than last month actually, even on SSDs! It's mostly the discussion text I've added a few new pointers to consider, but with Fermi not making a dent of difference, there's not much to say other than that.
