Building my first computer (for myself, I've built many but never one for myself) and I've just ordered everything but RAM, HDD, and CPU.. MY budget is getting very tight seeing as I'm only 15 and don't have a job. I defiently need 512mb of RAM, and a stable processor seeing as this system will be on 24/7/360 I needa Socket A processor btw. --So anyone have suggestions on these?-- Perferably ordered from newegg, but if you find a good deal elsewere, I'm open to it.

How much money have you got left for these three extremely key parts? ;)

If you want to overclock, get a Mobile CPU, they're multiplier unlocked and are made of better silicon, so you'll get better speeds out of it.
If you're thinking about getting 512MB for now and more later, consider getting just the one stick, so that you can just buy another of the same later and run dual channel with them - otherwise, get 2x256 for DC straightaway.
As for HDD - how much space can you get away with having? Anything up to 80GB really doesn't cost that much, so you may as well get something around that size, it's plenty to be getting along with anyway. Personal recommendations are Seagate and Samsung.

    Newegg.com

    Mobile XP 2500+ - $100
80gig OEM hard drive, any major brand ~ $70
    512 of budget PC3200 ~ $85

    $255 before shipping

I suggest doing what I did when I first built my PC - Get a good quality 256 mb DIMM and add another on later. Saves a penny you won't have to wait for.
