Hello , I was just wondering that , How I make my hardware safe !!

mean , the big fans and strong fans effect the motherboard and etc

and I can clean the dust with a blower and still safe , because I read that thread that he guy cleaned his PC with vacuum cleaner and his VGA got damage !!

so how I can keep my hardware safe ! and what Will effect on them !!

because tomorrow I will start the work on my project :thumb:

Thanks , Good luck , CK

The best way to clean your components would be to take everything apart and throw it in the dishwasher except for fans and hard drives. The hard drives have breather holes and the fans have bearings and places for water to get stuck, so putting those in isn't a good idea. If you let it all dry for a few days or even slather it in alcohol (ethanol would be better but it's expensive) in order to speed up the drying process, everything should be fine as long as it's dry before you put it all together and plug it in.

Do not run the drying part! If you cant turn off the drying function then do not attempt! Make sure you turn cold water one only!

Killed my keyboard once, forgot to turn off the drying part...

Oh, I just replace it with newer hardware once the dust settles in :worried:

    :hehe:

Remember you have to use Vanish dishwasher tabs tho, or you'll not get the mirror like finish on things like PCI blanking plates!

In all serious tho CK, just use a small, camel hair brush, or a make-up brush, and brush the dust away while holding a reasonable powerful vacuum cleaner attachment close enough to remove the dust. For fans, it's probably best to remove them so you can really blow the dust out... once removed these things are quite robust, and a compressed air line will be OK... just dont let the fan rotate with the air flow, as they can easily reach RPMs they were never designed for. Hold the blades still while you do it, and avoid aiming the blast at the windings.

Cillit Bang cleans anything. Just be careful though, using too much can make you deaf, just like the guy in the ads.

Many of you jest about the dishwasher, but it has been done before and works a treat. Especially great for getting dilectric goo from phase change cooling out of a cpu socket.

if i had issuses with dust build up or sand due to your location (not sure about that bit??) i would cut up some vacume cleaner filters and place them over every fan inlet.

This would stop alot of dust getting in.

TBH i wouldn't jump at the idea of putting a X1950xx series card in the dish washer, come to think of it any computer hardware at that.

All PCB's are covered in a varnish that protects the components. dust is only an issue if case temp's get really high to cause a fire. temps have to up in the 80 degree C mark i beileve. and no one these days has case temps like that!!

Using compressed air is a bad idea due to the moisture that forms in the compressor. You could end up doing some damage.

Not always that bad, and compressed air cans are actually pretty good about being dry, so long as you don't use them for so long without a break they get cold and condensation forms in the air when you're spraying, that sucks but can be solved by letting it all sit and dry for a good few hours (12)

    thats ok.

if you find a HEPA air filter you can take them out and wash them.

    http://www.aircleaners.com/

they can be found most places, the link is so you understand what they are with out searching around like a mad man. lol

    Hope this helps
