It's the day after the 16th's deadline and no announcement on the FAH forums but my last 6903 is stuck in a loop trying to upload and failing each time.
Also I did not get another 69** downloaded but instead got a 7000 WU.

Looks like that's it then, so long and thanks for all the fish. :(

My 12-core dedicated Linux folding machine will now be mothballed and I'll be helping the planet by reducing my carbon-footprint and my electric bill. :)

Happy New Year to one and all !

You may well be right Dave.

I was away over the weekend and my folding farm was shut down.

Yesterday I started it up and there was obviously something wrong with the server dealing with -bigbeta (at least as far as I could tell).

I will try again today, but it maybe the changes PG are making are not complete.

You may well be right about that.
Kasson wrote on the 28th December that he would not implement before the end of the 15th and that the process would be to bring online the -16 WUs then bed the -8 WUs.

Unfortunately I got caught by this last time they made changes - I finished a WU right at the changeover time and effectively wasted 3 days processing because the WU got dumped by them. Same this time I think. :(

My 6903 unit has failed to upload 6 times now. It has uploaded the total file size but then stops and sits there. Yeah, a little annoyed. :wallbash:

When someone is getting the new BIGADV units, can you feed back to let us know how to get them...

Is it a case of any rigs that meet the new BIGADV requirement will continue to run (ie servers and SR-2 rigs) or will there be a new switch (-BIGADV2 for instance) instead?

My completed 6903 has finally uploaded and after one 7808, I have picked up another 6903.

    Is the deadline any shorter?
A server was down which caused the upload problems, maybe also the bigadv download problems.

I'm not sure the new deadline/core changes have kicked in yet.

In v7 terms, 5 days for timeout (preferred) and 12 days for expiration (final). I think that is still unchanged.

I just turned my machine back on and picked up a 6904 so it looks like the little systems are still being allowed to run (for a while).

Maybe I spoke too soon - once my previous 6903 (which had completed 100% OK) had finish uploading I got :-

    20:21:55:Unit 01: Upload complete
    20:21:55:Server responded WORK_QUIT (404)
20:21:55:WARNING: Server did not like results, dumping
    20:21:55:Cleaning up Unit 01

    :wallbash:

Another 3 days worth of electric thrown away.

My i7 980X (Linux) uploaded a P6904 this evening, and then downloaded a new one ... so there's at least some 12 core WU's around ... but for how long ....
My second near-identical rig is due to upload its P6904 in 2.5 days ....

Just got my SR2 up and running again to do some testing and its just picked up a new project, well I think its a new project anyway as HFM doesn't know how to deal with it even using the "psummaryC.html" project URL in HFM for the beta stuff...

Its a P6900 R5, C8, G102 and its taking 11 mins a frame on 24 threads @ 4.2ghz, have no idea what it will return at the moment...

It takes me 26:30 a frame :sigh: only 8 threads though.
