    Hi all,

I have a Kinect for xbox 360 lying around and I wanted to use it in a kiosk project to control a web browser for some user interaction. I remember when the kinect was launched there was a big buzz about the possible uses of it but all I have found searching around is from about three years ago and nothing seems to really work.

Has the internet given up on Kinect?

no the Dev Kit for 360 Kinect was Stopped in favour of Kinect for windows And that has Dev Kit1.8
focus now has moved to Xbone Kinect with Dev Kit 2.0

the Xbox 360 KINECT is No Longer Licensed for windows development

Can you use the Kinect 2 with the adapter or is there a Kinect V2 for Windows? Because I also have a Kinect 2

Thanks for that, I might have a look at doing some kind of gesture control with the V2 Kinect and the adapter
