hi, i have just defeated alduin, does that mean ive finished the main quest? it just sent me back to skyrim with no real ending? thanks
I don't think you finish a game like that. sure you can complete the main story line, but the game still goes on.
The real ending happens when you are satisfied that there is nothing left to do in the game, there are so many things to do in the game. After you have done the designated quests, you can then just enjoy the scenery.
^^ This They'll release DLCs eventually as well I should imagine which should give you a few more quests.
The Elder Scrolls games never had a finite ending. Its supposed to show a type of "life after" for the hero. I'm sure you guys know that there a few quests that open up only after the main quest is done.
Is it just me or is Skyrim a bit quick? I'm very much enjoying it, but the quest lines seem to be very short, I completed the stormcloaks in just an evening. In Oblivion the quest lines took quite a bit longer, and in Morrowind they took forever to complete compared to Skyrim.
Yep, Mage's Collage is WAY too short Spoiler 6 quests total I think I think the reason for this may have been that they wanted to push for exploring on your own and "Self Quests" like the Dragon Priest masks
My character is currently at level 27, and I haven't even finished the greybeards quest lines yet. I keep meaning to get further into the main quests, but as I wander along my inner monologue goes something like this: "OK, time to get back onto the main quests. I'll just finish one of them now, and then I can get back to exploring some more. Oh wait; what's that?" Three hours later... "Wow, that was fun! OK, time to get back onto the main quests. I'll just finish one of them now, and then I can get back to exploring some more. Oh wait; what's that?" And so on. Skyrim is huge!
I was level 35 before I even went to the greybeards, , and even then I only did the first bit. Took me ages to find the path up the mountain, I spent ages walking round the slopes trying to find a way up, only to be met by vertical cliffs I couldn't ascend,
thanks for the reply's guys!, ye i just kinda meant is that the main quest complete {it didnt really say job done type thing}, ive played loads of the game and had a good time {50 hours ish} and could easily do more things, theres a really funny article at pc gamer where he stole everybody cloths in whiterun!
I'm level 43 or 44, have over 60 hours into the game, have completed the first quest the Greybeards send you on. Am I done yet? My problem is I am obsessive about clearing out the Miscellaneous quests but they are constantly popping up. It doesn't help that I am playing a slow, methodical assassin type that sneaks through every dungeon and carefully murders everything inside. My sneak is so good now I can walk right up in front of an enemy without him seeing me and do an automatic crit for 30x damage. I snuck up on and 1 shotted a blood dragon yesterday!
Skywank is overhyped console bollocks. Installing it on my PC I have been shocked at how old the graphics and animation are. They made absolutely no effort to lift the game from it's lowly console status.
Yup, that Miscellaneous column is evil! I must keep it clean, won't touch another quest until the misc stuff is out of the way. That said I'm playing city by city, I'm level 30 and have pretty much done everything in White-run and winter-hold...but haven't even been to the other cities! So many quests are triggered only by talking to complete randoms, the quests don't find you. Every shopkeeper and every priest and every burial place...all have quests, madness!
Never before have I been able to disregard somebodies opinion based wholey on the first word they used. I think that's worthy of something...congratulations or perhaps a decent education....not sure yet.
I've been trying to do the same thing. Got mixed up with some stuff here and there but still haven't finished Whitrun as far as I know. I'm not even gonna touch the Civil War quest. I'm playing a Wood Elf, who normally would love to screw over the Thalmor but doesn't really have anything to gain from siding with the Nords. I intend to make a Nord warrior type who will do all of that stuff. I'm thinking about intentionally avoiding certain holds and saving them only for my other characters. For example, my Civil War Nord will live in Windhelm and do all of the quests there, but I won't go to the College of Winterhold since I have no intention of being a mage. My elf will stick to Whiterun and generally helping people out, doing as she pleases because she's more of a loner/independent adventurer type. I'll have to go to Riften though and do the quests there since she's mainly a thief as well. Maybe I'll make a Breton someday and do mage stuff. Have you gotten any "Collect Bounty From Skald" quests stuck on your list? I have 2 on there and I can't get rid of. Skald has rewarded me but the quest won't clear off my list. It's driving me nuts. ...God help me.
did the same thing.. stayed neutral to the very end- played both sides to see what happened the bounty from skald got stuck in my list too.. some guys in the wiki said they take another bounty from him to unstick it but I already sided and ousted him as jarl.. so stuck in my list ones that got stuck with no way to advance them- collect bounty from skald.. see degain (that beggar in markarth).. and speak to greta about going to the temple of divines also had one item supposed to collect for the thieves guild, couldn't turn it in.. but got all the unusual gems done.. your rich after that- gives you a crazy perk where you find gems everywhere
