Dear ****ing assholes who stole all the drain covers on a pitch black section of public path, you are ****ing assholes. I hope you fall into a drain one day and snap your leg in half, trapped in the middle of nowhere until you bleed to death. Just got back from my local shop, the trip back was literally a trip, as some *******s nicked the drain covers and my leg unexpectedly dropped 2 or 3ft into the hole, hitting my shin pretty damn hard. I've always been good at managing pain, despite my gingerness, however this does hurt. Should get it checked out if it hurts much more i think. Anyway, my point is, have you ever had an accident that was nothing to do with you? What did you do about it? Rant on. P.S. I'm not the type to look for compensation, but i thought the title would be amusing nonetheless
I was walking through reception, the floor was wet with no sign and I slipped, seriously damaging my knee. I couldn't keep up with my bills or my rent. Another time I was putting in an alarm system and I was given the wrong type of ladder ...
Dave, perhaps if you didn't have such a godawful fringe you would have noticed the floor was wet. And most workmen I know when given the "wrong type of ladder" usually decide that's an excuse to charge you a call out fee and not do any work
Ah man I know your pain... literally! I had the exact same thing happen around christmas 2008, the pikey *******s across the road have been taking grid covers, railings from the near-by closed down school. Pretty much any place they can get metal and scrapping it in at the local scrappie who is a VERY shady character by all accounts.
As ChromeX said, people are taking advantage of the high metal prices by stealing things like drain covers and selling them to scrapyards. This is the first I've heard of it in my little south devon town, but it happens.
It happens when a local scrap yard owner says "Yeah, I'll take owt". Then folks just start nicking everything they can get their hands on. If you really think there's something wrong get to casualty and get it checked, you don't want your legs messing you about.
On a semi related note, vandals/ thieves stole the lead off a local church recently And yes, I have gotten in manys an accident that wasn't my fault. The most recent was my car accident on Christmas Eve which was a writeoff and could have been easily avoided if the guy in front of me had looked in his rear view mirror before slamming on his brakes 15 metres from an amber traffic light.
My leg feels pretty sore and it's got a huge gash down the shin and on the knee, but it's not broken. Taking the day off uni tomorrow to save myself a walk to the train station and back. Pretty damned badly bruised though! As I said though, I have a pretty high pain tolerance in spite of the fact that gingers feel pain more than most ! I have found however, that most car accidents can usually share blame in some way. One or two exceptions obviously. My dad was hit side on by a driver slightly over the limit as he was driving past a junction. The other driver drove right into the side of his car. Still, I don't want to contribute at all to this crazy compensation fanatasism that people who watch ITV all day and read the Daily Mail have. I can't stand political correctness, especially as a primary school teacher. You wouldn't believe some of the decisions I've heard about.
Dave, your not that irritating annoying git on the TV advertising for Injury Lawyers for You, are you? Sam
yep, and I got £5,000 in compensation ... beat that bitches! Still not enough to get my fringe sorted out
I've been in a couple. The worst one was a guy in dark clothes sleeping in the road just after dusk. No way i could see him before it was too late. drunk **** survived it as well (thank heavens, really)... but my Volvo is gone as a consequence. Cops saw the accident happen coincidentally and cleared me of any and all charges. They were coming from the other side, and THEY didn't see the guy either, until i ran over him. Hospital doesn't even have the details of the guy.
That advert is priceless... "I was given the wrong type of ladder and slipped" - What the hell did you CLIMB it for?
