Np, they are really really easy to sell if you don't like it though, and you can usually fetch a lot of what you paid

They do sound really good for the money, If I get a couple of aluminium cases from Treble then I will probably pick up the Rosewill internals for the case :)

I've never bought the better typist business either. I miss less keys with my mechanical boards, but that's more about their lighter weight than anything, I'd likely miss just as many with heavy Cherry switches, buckling springs, Alps, et cetera.

It certainly feels a lot better typing with mechanical, though. Mars' comment about the Bree Olson of keyboards is quite accurate.

Checking out mech keyboards lately. Probably settling on a Zowie Celeritas instead of the epic but expensive Ducky Shine.

Well after looking at a few boards I decided on the choc mini with brown switches and ordered it off flea-bay. When thinking about my nice new small keyboard, decided to tidy the desk up a bit so ordered a new mouse (logitech mx performance).
Then a nice new steel series large mouse mat.
Then a Vesa mount to get my monitor up and off the tidy new desk.
God this mechanical keyboard business is getting expensive!

Did you get the Steelseries Heavy?

At least you will have one hell of a setup once this is over :D
You know you always wanted it

I can't stand them, the clacking drives me insane.

    INSANE I TELL YOU.

Call me a cretin, philistine, whatever you like. I'll stick with Logitech!

To me they do all clack, as they bottom out, with blues adding a click into the mix ;)

Am unsure what switches to go for with my Pure/Race purchase (can't decide) and may be about to pick up a SiiG Minitouch to try ALPs :)

Looking at WASD's custom keyboard - which is the best layout for someone used to the speech marks being shift+2 and the @ symbol being two keys to the right of L? 104-key US ANSI or 105-key ISO? And are their keyboards as good as if not better than the various other makes?

    WASD make decent boards.
And well, if you order one with custom keycaps, then just change what it says on the keycap :p
I'm currently using an ANSI layout board with in windows it's set to UK, so " and @ are where they should be (despite my current keycaps saying they're the other (american) way round :) )

You definitely want 105-key ISO for that (or do what George said, but you are presumably used to an ISO layout so go for that unless you want a larger range of aftermarket (ie non-WASD) keycap sets to choose from - ANSI is more popular worldwide)

And yes their boards are top notch.

Where are you getting the Minitouch from? I was looking for a Monterey Blue version to try what is supposedly the most crisp and wonderful clicky switch, but the only source I found was DanGWanG and he said he bought his for $150 and its still new so... meh

Oh, yeah I'm not a fan of trying any Alps other than Monterey Blues atm :D

Heard consistently good things about them

Do you always look at the keys before pressing? If not then it doesn't really matter as the orientation of those two keys depends on the input language settings in Windows.
