Back in the days there seemed to be more fanboys that would buy from Intel or AMD but not from both. Nowadays, it seems that power users like us buy the best bang for buck, regardless which manufacturer it's from. I'm curious to see if it's all in my head or not Here's what I owned over the last 13 years Intel : Pentium 166 Pentium 233MMX Pentium II 450 Pentium 3 800 Pentium 4E 2.8 Pentium M 740 1.73 Core Duo T2500 (laptop) Core i7 950 AMD : Duron 800 Duron 1.3 Athlon XP 1800+ Athlon XP 2400+ Phenom 9500 2.2 Phenom II X3 720 Phenom II X4 965 If I exclude the laptop's CPU, I have had the same number of AMD and Intel CPUs. To be honest, I am quite surprised as I always preferred Intel. The first 2 AMDs I bought, I bought them because they were cheap. I never did that with Intel. I bought because it was the best (okay okay, the Prescott was crap even when new, but it was still a huge upgrade back then) What's your story ?
