That is exactly what I was thinking So, lets see, new draft: Oh, and wireframe, get over it dude I've never had a reason to lie, and I have never lied (though I'm sure the fact that something actually happened in my life is amazing enough to make you think I'm lieing about it). If you have a problem with me, PM me about it, and don't drag you're ignorant and hateful comments into yet another thread simply because you have "issues". Thank you. [EDIT]Revised above draft and sent it to the scammer. Lets see if I get a reply before I return from work![/EDIT]
ive never quite gotten a response like this to something ive posted in a paper before... ive gotten offers similar to it from ebay auctions and the like but wow. Im rather curious as to how this will turn out.
alright so if he doesn't go for paypal it would be cool to mod a CD-ROM with a GPS and go through with the transaction
I got to say this is very odd. if this was posted in a local paper why would you post it to him? if he was local he would collect. how would he get hold of this paper in the first place to find your email address if he did not live localy? does not add up to me.
It's also online Read through the inital responses, see any websites mentioned? Maybe a buysell.com ? They serve most of western canada, and have more "local" papers (IE: north/south alberta have different papers). They also have all their listings online. But yes, I should have worded it correctly, you are right.
Say you would prefer paypal payment method as it is more secure and you can also claim off them if theres any problems. If he says no to this is its obviously a scam and i say milk him for everything he has.
I had one of these trying to buy a mobile phone I was selling on ebay. Turns out they cobbled together a fake BidPay email, with a totally different name on it and several grammatical and spelling mistakes. Ebay cottoned on fairly quick and BidPay got a forward of the fake email, although I guess they get a fair few of these. The person was offering twice the amount he had won it for, which would've been nice
Um, well, if you look carefully through THIS THREAD, you'll find your admission of...er...well, lies. Well, I don't have issues, per se, but after a whole bunch of dubious threads (SEE A LIST HERE), one has to wonder. Have a look through the threads listed in that link, then come back and see if this seems quite so feasable? I don't even care, really, it just seems like a waste of everyone's time. The thread in that link right there says it all for me. And Krikkit, thankyou for putting things so kindly. I'll see if I can try to be more friendly.
Well, I got a new e-mail that just seems to compound the scam status of this. This guy just isn't really trying very well. First he makes it sound like he's in west africa, and now he gives an address in edmonton? Kind of odd if you ask me. Anyway, I'm going to see if I can get over to his house some time (unfortunately it is quite far south-west from where I am) and see what exactly it looks like. My next e-mail looks as follows: I guess we'll wait for a response... [EDIT]Corrected my west/south mistake[/EDIT]
Well it seems to me that he wants the machine to send to his uncle who lives in West Africa (not South), so he doesn't actually say where he lives. Has scam written all over it tbh
Visit the address and note some things down about the house (if it even exists) such as colour, number of windows, type of roof etc. If the house doesent have a porch you should send an e-mail asking if you could leave the system boxed under his porch for him to collect. Also ask other questions about the house. Just an idea. Be carful though, theres nothing like finding out the scammer is 1 step ahead and getting ripped off.
