I have ATI multimedia center on one of my pc's. I can record a program on tv and play it back with no problem on that pc. When I try to play it back on my laptop I get no sound. I downloaded the same ATI player to use on my laptop even though I don't have a ATI card on this pc.

I have tried all kinds of things but I get no sound playback only video can anyone help me?

Thinking I could work around it I also recorded some video in avi and mpeg 1 and mpeg 4. But once again plays on the pc with the video card but no joy on the laptop. Only video no sound.

    ok 2 things cou;ld b wrong here,
A-> laptop is still missing a specific codec
B-> the sound card drivers are fooked or not installd,

install Divx and powerDVD and play them in those, had a similar problem and playing in powerDVD fixes it. also update the sound card drivers on the laptop

Ok I installed powerdvd and divx and neither got sound. This is about to drive me insane.

Can I use another software bundle for my tv card or must I stick with it?
