OK tried this so many times about to give up on it.

Running FaH GPU client fine on my nVidia graphics card but thought I would try the SMP2 for my i7 950.

Finally got it installed and setup using old dos type command so advanced flag is set to -smp and it said setup was ok and has downloaded a work unit - Project 6883 however my cpu useage is only showing 12% and 1% has taken 4mins so far. :waah:

How can I get this to use the other 88% cpu which is just idle?

    "project 6883: 69 points"

Looks like upon set up you didn't choose "big" packets which are multi core, default is normal which only uses one core. Close the smp client, delete your work folder, add the -advmethods flag, as well as -smp, then restart the smp client again, see how that goes.

Strange as I've checked again and "big" was selected.

Anyway have deleted the work packet and added the -advmethods flag along with the -smp flag and it is now showing as cpu running at 100% and on Project 6061 although that is down as only worth 481 points :sigh:

481 points is the value without the bonus points, are you using Fahmon? I don't think that calculates the bonus points, or at least it didn't used too, HFM calculates them.
In case you don't know to get the bonus points you need to get a passkey from stanford, and enter it into your client, then after you've completed 10+ WU you'll get the bonus points.

That is correct, 6061 is a standard A3 WU, with a 950 that should give ~9000+PPD. if you are trying to get BigAdv WUs then you need to add the -bigadv flag (and be running an overclock, probably). Then when you have folded 10 WUs you will get the bonus.

    Hi John.

Get a passkey from Stanford and keep crunching the SMP's after 10 you'll notice a massive increase in points

Thanks for your help - have now requested and got a passkey from Stamford so onwards and upwards!

When my i7 970 arrives I assume I could get that to look at the BigAdv units or just leave it "as is" (set to Big) ?

Welcome to the forums John, I would get your 10 WU's done, see how it all performs and then have a tinker with the BigAdv after that.

Just popped this on to another computer - running i5 2500 processor.

Running but only 25% of cpu.

    What have I missed?

Probably the "-smp" flag - Without it you run the single client on one core.
