I have to do a choice.

    This are my options :

    Sapphire Ati Radeon HD4850 Toxic 512MB GDDR3 256bit, HDTV, Dual DVI/TV-Out, PCI-E
    (it comes pre-overclocked )
    or

    HIS ATI Radeon HD 4850, 1024MB, DDR3, 256biti, PCI-E

    or

    Sapphire ATI Radeon HD4850 VAPOR-X, 1024MB DDR3 256bit, PCI-E.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

    Kind regards.

Depends what sort of resolution you're running. If it's fairly low (1440x900 or lower) I'd say go with the 512MB one if it's cheapest. If you're running a higher res (1680x1050 or higher) then go with one of the 1GB cards.

If the Vapor-X cooler on the Sapphire board is as good as the previous Vapor-X coolers, it'll be good. I'd probably go with that one.

Price is a factor, though, too - a few of the 4850 cards cost more than 1GB 4870's, which are faster...

At the moment 1440/900 resolution . I was thinking about 4850 Toxic Edition , because in many internet reviews i saw good conclusions about it. But my problem wich its really bothering me is about 512mb or 1024mb version :)). Price differences are off the point. 512 version is a good choice for now , but , probably in the future a 1024 one would be nice as long everything is faster going up today in games industry.

Of the three I'd definitely go with the Vapor-X model. Also, you might want to have a look at a Geforce GTX 260, especially from Gainward/Palit. Price should be much the same, but you might get a bit more oomph from it.

I don't think you should buy a 4850 at all personally, from what i gather HD 4770 would be superior in value.

    Aye.

Really, gaming at 1440x900, a 4770 will do great. :) And at about £80, it's likely cheaper than those others.

Are you planning on upgrading your screen any time soon? Or are you happy with 1440x900?

If you're going to upgrade to a higher res screen - particularly if you might want to turn anti-aliasing on or run HD texture pack mods in games - shoot for one of the 1GB 4850's. :) I've got a Gigabyte-brand one that did very well at higher resolutions and AA levels even when paired with a less-than-amazing CPU. :)

Still, dependent on the prices of those 1GB 4850's, it might be worth a look at a 1GB 4870. Depends whether cost/performance or cost/quiet/cool are priorities. Even so, no card out of 4770, 4850 or 4870 is going to be a slouch. :)

I want to recommend the GTS 250, if only because it's the same price and performs generally better.

    Or just get a Re-certified GTX260(US/Canada only).

Yeah i agree with Elton, you might wanna lean to the gtx 260 core 216.
Either that or go with shifter's recommendation of 4870 1gig.

The argument still holds to not bother with the 4850 though.

    Thank you for replies.
    One more question :
    Wich one between AMD Phenom 8650 Triple-core, socket AM2+ / AMD Athlon64 X2 7850 Dual Core, 2800MHz, Socket AM2+, Black Edition.

Or something in 100 $ range.

I'd probably go with the triple core CPU.
