i searched the forum, and googled the subject, but i havent found a satisfying answer to my pondering: does it matter how you mount a hard drive? i mean will it affect performance/do any damage if i choose to mount it upright/sideways/upside down/ or whatever? or is this entirely irrelevant?

another thing... (pbbly n00b question): in what part of the site (and how is this accomplished) should i upload a sketchup design ive made that i want some feedback on?
    :eyebrow:

    thanks in advance...

anyone else have any more info on the matter - or should i consider it a closed case, and start mounting them in all kinds of positions? btw how important is anchoring them? that is how well would a free form dangling hd behave? surly there must be some materialistic or physical meaning. if not then please explain if anyone has the technical knowledge involved...\
    10x :worried:

Laptops, Xbox's , those skinny dells, and others go in all directions you will have no problem mounting it

xbox normal flat (but they get tossed around)
    laptops - tossed all around
    skinny dells - upside down
pc's - sideways, upside down, windowed, tossed around

HDD's can take some beatings :thumb:

*edit - you don't need a secure point really, you can suspend them with rubber bands or what not, rubber gromets on side screws and no bottom mounts

Never used sketchup myself, but I'd imagine you could export them as some type of image file then host that on the web like any other.

As long as you mount it 90 degrees either vertically or horizontally, it doesn't really matter. Try to avoid mounting it at a diagonal and make sure it is completely flat or you could risk damaging your HDD. Good luck :thumb:
