If i remember correctly...most 440BX boards supported up to 32GB...i think you might have to get a pci ide controller (they should be pretty cheap) or check for an updated bios.. good luck!
There might be a jumer on the back of the drive to limit to 32 gig, you could try that ad see if it works. I know my IBM 40 gig drive has one on it,m but I dunno about Western Digital.
Are you considering upgrading soon? To a new rig? Might be worth the investment soon with the next gen gfx, processors and other goodies just round the corner. Ug
