Hello everybody, i have wanted to have a hdd activity operated cc for a long time so now im going about doing it. I have the cc + soldering and basic lectonics knowledge, but i need to know the maplin code for the correct optoisolator. If this is completed ill have a blue cc + one red one linked to HDD activity which will be l33t , and ill hopefully get some piccies.
Any help welcome (and thanks linear for telling me i need an optoisolator ;) )

    4N25 Optoisolator = Maplin code - AY44
That should do the trick. Not sure what the startup current is on your inverter, however that opt. should be able to handle up to 150mA (if i'm reading the spec sheet right).
