I want to remove two of my hard drives. I've managed to free up one of
them (F:\) so I could remove it.
However on My Comp and in Disk Management, my PC is showing page
partitions and stuff on the hdds. I don't know where they have come from
and would anything be using them? How can I make sure it is ok to remove?
I also want to remove J:\ drive, which has a whole raw part and a system
    reserved partition? :/

Anyone know if just taking them out would affect the system and/or check
them to see what has made the extra space?

Bit confused by it all. lol

    Cheers,
    Pete

Have you installed Windows 7 (or maybe 8) multiple times? The installation has the annoying habit of creating a 100MB partition for error logs and dump files. Although you can delete the partition you will need to use your original installation DVD to fix the Boot file. If the partition is the first one on the disk you need to use something like EaseUS Partition Manager to add the partition to the main drive.

I don't do it often enough to remember the detail but this gives an overview

I have my windows installed on my SSD and it runs fine without any of my other hdd plugged in. So
would I be correct in assuming I could take any other hdd out and it won't affect it.
I did have a dual boot going on but the other windows install went a bit funny. To boot into it I had to press
F8? Or something to bring up a menu and guess which hdd to boot to lol

Remove them and see what happens. If it boots up then there's nothing you need do. If you get an error message reboot with the DVD and follow the guidance on the link I gave.
