My opinion is, make window mods on all of them and rig them all as wall-mounted speakers... perhaps put some lights in them with resistors so they light up as sound goes through them? Afrotech made sound, maybe make them light up? (that may take a bigger amplifier.. hehe) have fun whatever you do... but the window practice could make you feel much better about doing it to a new drive, and as a result being very cool and popular with the ladies.:dude:
The platters have an excellent sound to them... I hung them with string from a coaster CD, and I use them as windchimes... I used an old FUJITSU 1gb SCSI1 drive... The magnets are insane, and it had 9 platters!!!!... They ring REALLY nicely... givem a ding...
i found a old 40megger layin around.. i think im gonna attempt another window mod on it.. this thing is so old it doesnt have the magnets in it.. no voice coil.. got the oldschool stepper motor for the heads.. -=scoob8000=-
