    Hi all,

Im thinking of doing that HDD window mod, but am worried about the static build up on the acrylic window and if it will cause damage eventually.

Can any one offer any help

Is there a way of earthing acrylic at all, or some saftey design.

    Cheers
    Russ :brrr: :wallbash:

    Welcome to the boards.

No need to worry, plus it's non-conductive so you can't really earth it. I used some plastic polish called Novus #1, it's excellent, but I don't think it's available in the UK (I'm guessing you're not a USer or you would have said "grounding" rather than "earthing").

    Whats is Novus #1

Also, what I have done is brought a faulty HDD which has the same top as mine, so im going to fit the window and LEDs then switch the tops qucikly, is there any way of making good conditions, cause even though the lid will be off the HDD for split seconds I dont want to risk the tinnest bit of dust to get in

    Thanks

Don't worry about it excessively. The guy from hitechmods ran his shower, which strikes me as just idiotic (but hey, what do I know?) and got away with it.

Seems to me that water vapor in the chassis would be a bit of an issue.

I liked that idea! My shower steams up the whole room good so it should work well so long as you wait till the vapour has evaporated from the mirrors etc.
