Storage hdd reliability tests?

    ive got a few 3tb red drives im gonna put in the market place. but whats the best way to test them for reliability? ive only got a laptop and a usb 3.0 /esata hdd dock to test them with.
    i just wana make sure i dont sell anyone a dud unknowingly

    HDtune surface scan usually works well. Anything green is good, red is bad. Takes a while though.

    Work on an estimate of 70 MBps read speeds through the entire drive, and that'll give you the rough time it'll take.

    A 3TB drive will take a while, but it is worthwhile to perform the tests for anyone looking to purchase them. :)

    heh, damn this takes ages with the startech dock i have slows to a crawl after a short while. think i may be best of using my pc and no gaming till its done.
