i'm looking into expanding my current 1TB hard drive, as its becoming full of music and videos. looking at the possibilities for expansion, i don't know the advantages and disadvantages of the "green" hard drives.

they seem to be cheaper than faster harddrives, and i assume they are quieter and cheaper to run, but are is the speed sacrifice that great?

i will be streaming the content through the house using wireless and wired lan, are the "green" hard drives fast enough for this, or will the speed difference be noticeable?

    many thanks
