Is there anything I'm missing here. I have my old HP ZR24W monitor going spare so I came up with a plan to use it with a fire stick in the spare room. Now this monitor doesn't have hdmi so I buy an adaptor and hook it all up but nothing is displayed. **** adaptor or do I need something else My soon has two display port to hdmi cables for his monitors and they work fine so why not this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B017Q8ZVWK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
That's an adapter for going from DisplayPort on the GPU to HDMI on the monitor. You need the exact opposite.
Do you mean it's directional? Is this what I need? https://www.amazon.co.uk/UANTIN-HDM...sprefix=hdmi+female+to+display,aps,92&sr=8-17
Would HDMI to DVI also work as thats cheaper? Oh i will need audio so thats going to be an issue so probably not then.
Would this not be the wrong connections for what you need though? How about this? https://amzn.eu/d/7s3fE1e Edit / just realised that hp monitor replaced the LP2475W I used to have, I think bought from here at some point, takes me back great monitor. What are you going to do about sound? I don't think it has built in speakers?
HDMI doesn't have dedicated clock signal, whereas DP does have dedicated clock. So it's easier to go from DP to HDMI. All HDMI to DP converters will need to have some sort of additional power. Looks like this should work, with correct male/female enough converters.
Wrong direction for this one I think, Monitor is DP and the firestick is HDMI, someone in the reviews said it didnt work when they tried it. I'm going to hook up a speaker as the monitor does have uadio out but as you say, no speakers. That looks like the right thing but as you say I will need an HDMI female to femal to use it, I have a DP lead for the other end.
Sorry your totally right, was having a complete moment looking at the connectors thinking it was right
The one suggested is now out of stock and another one I've looked at says it won't work with an HDMI switch I was going to use as female converter. I'm starting to think it would be easier to give my wife the HP monitor and take her Asus then I won't have to muck about with adaptors but I love my HP.
This - https://www.amazon.co.uk/AXFEE-Disp...HDMI-DP-Female/dp/B0CQYM9W61/ref=sr_1_25_sspa - is the cheapest I could find that should do what you need, and the only one I could find that didn't require an additional DP-DP cable. You still need an hdmi gender-bender though, might as well stay with the same highly reputable (..) brand: https://www.amazon.co.uk/AXFEE-Adap...-Monitor-HDMI/dp/B0CXSLMDXS/ref=sr_1_5?sr=8-5
