I'm not sure if I have this in the right forum but it does pertain to electronics, I need to get a headphone amp and can build one which I would prefer to do since I can put it in any case I choose(cheaper too). There's plenty of on-line tutorials such as this one http://tangentsoft.net/audio/cmoy-tutorial/ just wondering if anyone here might have a suggestion.
thanks, I am curious about the Linkwitz as well, never heard of it wonder what it sounds like http://headwize.com/projects/cmoy1_prj.htm
you can get crossover plugins for winamp to do a crossover, check out and see what you can find. Heck, on my laptop if I select headphons from the speaker type, in the toshiba control panel I can hear it doing some crossover, not an uncommon effect.
You can, but the Linkwitz effect is crossfeed, also available as a Winamp plugin from a few sources, Headplug and Speaker Simulator among them.
I built my CMOY ages ago and had plenty of issue with it, but after building it got to enjoy the satisfaction of a headphone amp. It is a fun, semi-beginner project. I say go for it!
