Well guys I did search and appears no one has asked this question.
Well the question is; is it a good idea to use a heat gun or hear dryer (for cheep moders like myself) to dry paint faster, will it work on primer ?
What is a recommended distance temperature?
Have any of you don it as waiting 2 days for primer after that paint and a clear to cure is a bit long time.

Well, I painted my case in sub 30 degree farenheit weather.

The best thing is heat up the parts before you paint.

I put the steel parts in front of the furnace and warmed them, then I took them outside and put a coat of paint on. Then brought back in.

I also took a small propane heater, and put it under my parts and baked the paint on. (from the backside)

    Use thin coats of paint/primer.

2 days is good time for a wet sand / rub out of clear.

If you get too close with a blowdryer, you will melt the paint.
If you dont wait till the primer is dry before painting and then blowdry it, then you will bleed the paint/primer into eachother.

Remember that with a blowdryer, your surface drying the paint.

Will it dry paint faster, will it work on primer ? yes, I do it.

What is a recommended distance temperature?
Temp is not as big a deal as distance. I usually put my hand out in front of the heat gun/blowdryer. If its too hot on my hand then its too hot for the paint.
