For my next mod i'm planning on two Single 120MM heatercores with blowholes at the top of the case, what sort of performance would i get with these or would i be better getting something like a Thermochill 2x 120mm?

    Thanks,

    Leeum

heatercores are better, but your going to have trouble fitting them in the top of your case, they are huge...had to put mine on the top of the case...

Ouch that is a real problem, nice looking setup there. What heatercore is that, i'm looking at the ones from watercoolingshop.com. Are these the same as yours?

Why not use a dual 120mm core such as the one I got on ebay. Search for blak ice. Heck of a lot cheaper than BIX and such (I paid $49 shipped) and I do plan on mounting in the case at the top.

Dangerden sells a double-heatercore for $35US, but if they ship intl. it'll cost quite a bit more I'd bet. I think it's ~6.5x11x2" (not sure of metric dimensions) but check their site.

You scared me for a minute. $35 for what I paid $49 for? Crap! Until I realized that that one is not painted (I prefer painted - no mess/work for me and no screwups) and it has different dimensions. Mine is 5 5/8 x 12 x 2 (2 3/4 counting barbs). Fits perfectly in the top drive bays. IMO, stay away from $100+ rads as they are overpriced and you can find heatercores that perform better and cheaper :).

The way i wanted my next case to plan out was at the top, an Aquatube in the middle and a 120MM blowhole each side for a Single Heatercore. Another issue on my mind is because of my decision to not go for the full tower this is the gap i have. Image credits to Thealien=CCTF=

Obviously i'd move the HDD's down into the cage and the 2 optical drives as far down as possible, possibly even re-locate the PSU if needbe. This is making things almost impossible seeing as i'll need to get/ make a shroud for each of them and then a 120MM fan. Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks Again,

The w/cshop core is quite a bit smaller than the astra cores. iirc its a chevette core imported from the usa.

Thanks for the info, what are the chances of fitting two eitherside an aquatube at the top of that case, bearing in mind i'd move the PSU if needbe.

You may be able to squeeze it all in if you move the psu and loose the top 2 drive bays.

I'll give it a shot, thanks for the info guys. Does anyone know of any performance difference between a Dual and 2 Single Heatercores? Anyone any ideas for a shroud, £10 is a little hefty for one imo. Can the fans be mounted without one?

    Thanks Again,

    Leeum

Make one from sheet Alu, thats what I did for mine, parts cost me a fair bit to get it looking like the above though...but half the fun is making it.

Thanks for all your comments, i've decided against the idea as the top would like a little crowded and have decided to go for a Thermochill 120 2 and mount in at the front of the case :D

    Thanks Again,

    Leeum
