Yet another post by me Anyway, all of you will find 2 or 3 lil chipsets around the top half of ur mobo nearish to ur northbrigde. Now alot of northbrige coolers come with wee heatinks to put on these chips to help kool them, cos they r apprently pretty important and get prettyhot to. So having made my northbridge cooler myself, i decided with the left over heatsink to lop afew small bits off and stick um to the chipsets. MAN DO THEY GET HOT! those lil heatsinks get quite toasty, and i was wodnering if due to there small size they might infact be retaining heat and thus i'd be better off without them? Any1 bother to kool these lil chips?
Yeah they do get hot, and a lot of mobos now have fans+heatsinks for them. If your thinking about removing the heatsink, DON'T, unless you put a bigger/better one on. with new motherboards these days heat is such an issue, these heatsinks do help combat it.
