I have a athlon amd xp 2100+ and now there's a Taisol GK760092 on it it weighs about 264 g i'm planing to take the 60mm fan off and put a Ice hole on it +- 160-180g and on top of that an enermax fan +- 85 g i think that the 60 mm fan has a weight about 26 g

    so

    264
    - 26
    + 170
    + 85

That weight should just about be ok for three lugs.............but only just and take care! If any lugs are broken or you are not using all three then you should be far more wary

on 3 lugs it should be ok.

Official weight for AMD is 400g though.

It's not just the weight, it's the leverage from the extra height.

But with the 3-prong Taisol you've got the next-best fitting to using the mobo holes.

Just don't move the case about a lot (ie. lay flat when transporting). :eeek:

    Its actually called a 'moment'

you can work it with something like Length x Force (N)

I did all that about 2 years ago, so thats probably wrong

You could yes, but make sure it isnt too tight as to offset the HSF on the actual CPU die :)

That's what me & the mrs have :D

It's the distance between fulcrum or "hinge" (the clip) & the centre-of-mass of the hs/adapter/fan times the weight, IIRC.

But I could be wrong, I've started having senior moments :cries:
