    Hello everybody
I am new on this forum, so first let me introduce myself :)
My name is Tom (aka Tomcatt) , I’m almost 17 years and I’m from Belgium. I am doing casemodding for almost a year now. My first case was a caseconstruction, made of wood, but it didn’t work out so good. In September 2007 I started a new casemod. Thanks to a Dutch casemodding website I met a seller from a casemodstore, And now he is my sponsor :p
I buy all my casemodding stuff @ it-service in Belgium because it’s a store where almost everything is available for a very good price :p

Well, now let me introduce you to my casemod.
HELGHAN is the name , and Killzone2™ is the game :D
Helghan is the name of the planet where the helghast live on (ingame= enemy).
The design of my case is from an art design screenshot: (the building on the right side)

The first thing I started was making sketches, after a while I began to work with google sketchup. These are some designs:

As you can see, these sketches are not very good, But you get the idea :p
I did a lot of research on the sites of killzone™ to get a better background view of the game, so my modding work will be easier :)

    Material:
The case will be made of wood ( MDF). I like to work with wood but I didn’t have lessons for this at school or something, no this is my experience :).
For cutting the wood I mostly use a jigsaw, and files, a scroll saw and some other equipment. I do not have a mill :( but hey, we can work it out like this :)

    Making the gun
Before the case arrived I made some other stuff for designing the case.
Because Killzone™ is a shooting game I made a weapon for on top of the case. First I searched some pictures and printed them out… And I made a drawing myself on a large sheet of paper.

After that, I began to work it out.

It will be something in 3D as you can see :

This is the basic, I will use the dremel to give it a final finish.

I also made a controller of the FANs. There will be 4-5 FANs in my case and I am making a controller to create a silent/refrigeration choice :p
Here you can see the switches: (5V or 12V)

After a couple of days, The box arrived – Oléy ! :D
    [IMG]

And what was in it ? A nice case for modding. It is the MS-tech LC182 very cheap but that’s oke.
So it was time to strip the case :

Next, I made a basic ground plate (12mm MDF) where the case stands in.

There will be columns on the side panels so I made a piece of wood for the attaching.

And both sides: above and beneath:

The wood is made like that so the side panels still can be opened for later. :)

Then I made the columns …
    [IMG]

In between the columns there is place for a window (3 small windows actually). But I think there needs to be something more special on the sidepanel :p so I think and think, and with a headache I found the solution :D.
Well… here you see the solution :p

Total picture : (you can see where the windows will come ;) )

Well after that, I worked further on the columns:

To have a little break (with columns) I started on the intake in front ;)
Then I cut it with the Dremel® :D
    [IMG]

Then , to design the intake cooler, I made a “door” – it can’t move but is just for design ;)
The door will get a nice texture afterwards :)

I also made some lightning for the backside of the motherboard, it is not good to see, but the details can make a difference :p
    [IMG]

Then I already started on the top side of the case.
I ordered 2x 120mm FANs for the top … the case is small but it must work ! :p
So I started to make 2 holes for the FANs.

For the security, there will be mesh … :)

A piece of wood where the mesh fits in …
    [IMG]

    The result:

The secret: Arctic cooling fans, they have standard rubber foots so they are silent :)

    Well, as you can see … there is not a lot of place to get a power supply in the case (because of cooling);
So I thought again, and found an answer again :D. The PSU will be for a part outside the case, part inside.

This is an old PSU …
I ordered a new one :D @ it-service, again very satisfied from the store :)
It is a 500W , 140mm cooling FAN with nice cable sleeving.

    __
Then for the inside, I found something new for the design :). The Helghast (enemy = ingame) need also cooling to survive on the earth. – I don’t know how you call it, but it’s a part from the machine what you use to suck dust (xD) hehe, here an explanation. It has got an UV orange finishing.

This is the place in the case where I use it :)

After this, I made the front:
    WOODWOODWOODWOOD :p
    [IMG]

Some more @ the intake… there will come a controller for the light in front.

    The light controller:

In the bottom of the case there will be some spectacular lightning, a plexi sheet with the logo of de developers of the game killzone.
Well, it would look like this when it is finished:

Back to the side !! :D
Here you see some improvement on the lights @ the side
    [IMG]

But it won’t be as shiny because of coming details and paint inside the “cells” , details like these :

Then I was fully concentrated on the sidepanel again.

For the lights in the case I have a special way to connect them once the side panel is attached.
    A hole for connection:

And covered by my hand-made grill :)

    Tadaaa !

Still to come: plexiglass for the windows and filling, scouring and painting the sides :D
That will be for September- October ;)

    Next: The backside
First I made a sheet of wood again (4mm MDF) to fit the back.

Then I made a hole for the 80mm FAN, and I jigsawed the rest of the connections. :D

For the Power supply I made a cover as well:

Then, I made some air holes to give the back a little bit more … more :p

    Don’t mind the tape ;)
    ________________________________

The other side :D (hey, that is a pub here in town “den TOS” :p )

There is no place for a window here, so I replace it with a logo of the Helghast.

Making a drawing (not in sketchup or autocad … just pencil and paper :D )

Making it possible in wood ;)

Then I ordered another sheet of plexi, thank you again IT-Service ;)
The intention is to make the logo glow – With LED lightning

The plexi still needs a finishing touch but here is a result of what it would look like.

And this is my final picture of the first, major intro- update.

I know These are a lot of info and pictures to watch, but I hope you enjoyed watching.
Comments and critics are very welcome !

Now I have exams, (math tomorrow :p) but I hope to give you an answer if you have question.

    Welcome to the forums dude.

I am VERY impressed. Your idea is very interesting, and will make for a brilliant mod. Your planning and sketches very very impressive. Your building work so far has been to a very high standard, and looks brilliant. Your lighting so far looks very good, and your photography is spot-on and your project log is very well written.

No end of praise for what's been done so far, and I look forward to seeing more. Consider it *subscribed*!

    *claps*

Wow, I am really taken aback by this. Seriously impressive. Its a great inspiration for me to see that this kind of stuff is possible by just normal people (I'm dying to make a casemod myself... but gotta start small I keep sayin').

Consider this a subscription, I can't wait to see where this goes.
