The Lion King is really a classical Disney movie, right?
I am never tire of watching it. But it is not very convenient to play it on the DVD player every time so that I want to rip it to my Samsung I9300 and enjoy it anywhere, especially with my friends.
As you may suggest, I used handbrake, which had worked well in the last one year. To my disappointment, I only got the warning that the DVD content cannot be read. Nothing changed, even though I upgraded the Handbrake to the latest 0.9.8 version.
What’s wrong? How can I rip this DVD then?
    Help, thanks!

Disney DVD movies are usually protected by new DVD encryption. That is why Handbrake failed.
Few apps on the market can break through such restriction. However, every cloud has a silver lining. It is said that MacX DVD Ripper Pro has been updated recently to support all the latest copy protections.
You may have a try. Hope it really works as it claims!
    Good luck with you!

Try using MakeMKV to rip the DVD, along with Handbrake or Freemake Video Converter to reduce the final file size. That does the job for me.

When I'm, ahem, copying my own DVDs in an, ahem, legal way.

MakeMKV usually works on Disney stuff, I know for a fact it works on Lion King as well as my copy worked fine.
Works on Warner DVD's too which are the other ones which tend to be particularly difficult.

I've had success with DVD decrypter, regardless of it being outdated at the time (2008). I know I was successful at decrypting a Disney movie, I just forget which one. :p
