Yeah, I had an Antec PSU go rather violently just a few days ago (a piece blew off one of the caps) and the hardware is all fine. They generally have protection mechanisms to stop big spikes hitting the hardware in the worst case.
funny i had an antec do the same thing about 4 years ago, heard a rather loud bang, followed by alot of smoke. i did worry that all my hardware was toast, but few days later it fired up fine!
