As the title say's I'm looking for a new case, Budget's not important but must conform to the following.

    No bigger than 580mm H / 330mm W / 760mm L, But as close to as poss.

Must be able to house something like a Evga Classified SR-2 dual socket mobo with room to spare.

A removable mobo tray would be a plus.

Must have a least 9 GPU slots.

Would prefer welded aluminium , Black or silver

    Must have really good airflow.

Would like to have a window and a front door.

    Suggestions would be appreciated

    Ones I was looking at:

Coolermaster ATCS 840 - but only 7 expansion slots and no door
Lian Li PC-P80 - 10 expansion slots but 633mm high and no door
Lian Li PC-A71F - but only 7 expansion slots

Tricky...do you really need all 9 expansion slots?

The only case I can find at the moment that is within those size limits & has 9 exapnsions slots in the HAF X.

If you could go over the size limit then look at the Lian Li PC-P80.

Otherwise you're going to have to go for something extreme such as Mountain Mods as mentioned above.

Yeah I want to put my present rig in it which needs the extra slots I had to cut a extra one in the stacker case.

But I'm thinking of building a dual socket, Quad sli system, So if I'm going to buy a new case it may as well be good for the dual sk build.

On a side note does anyone know if the Evga classified is only xeon cpu's I would like to use 2x 980x if possible.

its only xeons for sure - desktop CPUs only have 1 QPI link, but in a dual socket system the CPU needs 2 (1 for the chipset, 1 to communicate with the otherCPU), so you would need a dual socket Xeon

That what I thought, Means a dual sk build would be a lot more expensive, Not out of the question yet though.

I still need the case though.

Edit it seems it would to be 2x X5677 westmere cpu on that mobo, Dont seem to support the X5680 Hex core

Seriously, if you are willing to blow £500+ on a motherboard, go for a proper custom Mountain Mod's case.. not a Lian Li and ghetto fit the board in it..

Sounds like a Lian li is called for. I just ordered a PC-A77F, take a look at that.

As said there is no budget I want to be able to do a slow upgrade path, It all starts with case.

So I'm looking at my options atm, But if I run true to form I will end up building the Dual sk rig :sigh:

Edit the Lian li case only 8 pci slots no widow or door although I could put a window in and I could live without the door but 8 slots would be a deal breaker for me "shame".

    The PC- P80 has possibilities.

Remember that the SR-2 motherboard is 381mm wide which is a problem for many cases. The HAF X for example has the expansion slots in the back to support it, but the internal motherboard tray is not big enough. The 800D for an example has the motherboard tray area to support it but only has 7 PCI slots.

It's looking like the Lian li PC-P80 is the one, 10 pci slots and able to take dual sk mobo's.

Damm it only take 12in x 13 in mobo so thats not big enough.

wait for Evga to release that case for the SR2
There is a review on the SR2 on the Bittech site someplace it lists cases that will fit it in

I don't think their are dual socket motherboards for i7s. If you give me a budget, I'll try to find a good build for you.

    P.s go for mountain mods
