Electronics help for creative zen power supply

guys i am going to built a creative zen micro ac adapter
it needs 2000 ma at 5 volt for recharging so i am planning to use a to3 lm7805 vr
does it works??

Want mine? My Micro is busted, but the power supply is still in perfect working condition, albeit it's a US plug on it, if you're in the UK though, and you have the adapter thingy (the plug replacement) you can just swap them out

 

haha i am in nepal(the country of mt.everest)so i cannot buy it sorry pal.

and i am using 9 volt 300 ma wallwart adapter
help me i am in big pain as we dont get chargers here in nepal
