Hello, Welcome to my very first sponsored mod project. This is charity based and don't forget if you live in the UK and like to go to LAN events i shall be hosting one very soon to help raise money for this charity. It will be about 50p - £1 entrance but that is for 24 hours gaming plus refreshments. There will also be a tournament where I will get a nice prize. It will be computer related. The computer is going to be a custom modded military computer, water cooled, gaming specification and much more. Hey there big elf good question. As it is sponsored I do not know where I stand on giving the parts away but I shall do some enquiries and if I am allowed then i may do otherwise I shall be trying to get hold of a graphics card or something and auction that. Also if i can get a GPU prize it will have two options. 1: Stock Cooler 2: Water block (I shall fit it) It will most likely be an Nvidia GTX 580 as my mate will sponsor me with a brand new one. Not for the build but for the auction. When i receive it i will be placing it on Ebay. Traditionally, when you build a PC for charity, regardless of whether the parts are donated or sponsored you would build the PC, then auction or raffle it off- 100% of the proceeds would then go to the chosen charity(s). What you are sound like you are saying is that you are building a PC, some of the parts are donated or sponsored, but you are only going to auction some of these aforementioned parts and will keep the rest of the PC for yourself, do I understand you correctly? This sounds very dubious really- either you are building a PC for yourself and some of the parts are sponsored / donated, or you are building a PC with the intention of raffling the whole thing off for charity at the end; decide what you are wanting to do is my advice...
I have been going to auction off the build the whole time. The charity is gaining all proceeds. What i meant by the above is the GPU is for extra charity support. My aim is to make as much cash as possible for this project for the charity. This PC shall be auctioned but i need to get the best possible way of auctioning it and shipping it without damage. If you wish please let me know how you would like to see it auctioned. On a forum or on Ebay where i shall post the link so you can purchase it. Remember it will be a bid not buy it now so everyone can get a chance. Thanks for the feedback and sorry for not being clear.
I hope you do well with this and raise a chunk of money for Help For Heroes. Me, my dad & my brother all donate money from our wages each month as we have a strong millitary background in our family, with me being the only male member of the family not to have gone in the army due to medical reasons. They do wonderfull things for injured men and women, who served for there country and have helped a few of my families closest friends. Dependant on when are where the lan will be held I will be very interested in coming along and will also pass on the information to my clan, as they will probably also be very interested in helping a good cause.
