hey guys i need some help figuring out what kind of leds these are they are from the display of a V1 remote display LINK they can and have been changed out before(LINK) out before i just want to do it my self. so any tips or hints on how to figgure out what they are would rock.
When you say figure out what LEDs they are do you mean a specific part number? (which will be practically impossible to do) Or do you just mean what size/package they are so you can find some replacements? Moriquendi
i mean the size/package so i can swap them out for colors i want. ive had some one say that they might be 1206's and anothe say that they might be 0805's if you know of any surefire way to ID them i would love to know
You can just measure them, the different packages are different sizes, that's the only difference. Ideally you would use something like vernier callipers. TBH they look like 1206s to me, 0805s are really small and 0603s are minute. I believe 1206s are 1.2x0.6mm but you'll be able to find out for sure online. Moriquendi
I just need some sort of fine scale there... take the picture with a ruler with mm graduations and it should be a lot easier then trying to guess what the other package sizes are. If those 3 lead components are in SOT-23 packaging then yeah thats probably 1206 LED, but I could definitely be off.
The 102 resistors should be 0805 package so the LEDs would be 1206. Hard to say from the pic, but that would be my guess.
