I'm not going to vote, merely say, choose which one you prefer personally. Both are good cases that are fairly evenly matched when it comes to their feature set. The CM690-II's cooling at stock isn't brilliant, so you might want to buy some aftermarket fans for it, but after that, it is great. Extremely well built, good looking, and easy to work on. I'm not saying, however, that the Xigmatek is worse; I've only worked on the CM-690 models and have heard the Xigmateks are great.

When it comes to CM690-II threads, I always like to leave a picture of the build I did, merely because it shows how many holes and areas you can hide cables in: [IMG]

You'd get similar results with the Xigmatek too.

Got a HAF 922 here, I'm more of a fan of CM cases. :) (so my vote goes to the 690 II)

Both case look like they would perform pretty similarly.

I've got the original CM690 Dominator Pure Black and its a cracking case. Can't fault it.

Runs everything nice and cool, good airflow, admittedly with a fair few aftermarket 120mm fans and fan controller too.

Case decision is 90% is down to personal preference and what you like the look of aesthetically.

CM 690 II is a great case. But when I was building my PC I was on a tight budget and personally felt theprice was too steep.
I went with a HAF 912+ and am happy I did:
The cable management is good with plenty of space to hide the wires behind the backplate

The backplate has a nice big window so if you need to change a cooler you don't need to take the whole thing out.

It is very wide so can fit pretty much any CPU cooler in it

If you remove the extra HDD case inside you can easily fit the largest GPU inside (this may be possible without removing it? I don't know as I removed it simply because it was no use to me

It feels very solid as opposed to chea cases that have real flimsy side panels

For £57.44 it had a lot of good stuff, in fact everything I was looking for at a cheaper price (especially as it is often on offer at Scans Today Only Deals)

    -------------------

The Xigamatek looks pretty good to and a similar price, so I vote for it if your choice is just the CM 690 and the Xig. When on a budget you don't need to spend more when the Xig and HAF can offer all you need

    used both... both work great
Its just down to your own pref RE: the look of it
Use the CM in my office for basic air cooled work station
used the Utgard on a small water cooled Xfire 775 socket pc build which i gave to a lovely family, that was a nice little build even though I say it myself lol.. sprayed the rads Lambo Orange to match the internals & fans lol..
Oh sod it I liked the Utgard better for that reason alone ..

I'm going to give my vote to the Xigmatek Utgard-X(with a side window).

I've got the utgard and love it loads of space inside for my frio. Got a 560 and still lots of space for a bigger card. Cable management is good. Also it looks great! Only problem is the fan controllers are rubbish!

Voted for the CM 690 II mainly because you can fit two 120.2 rads internally with no modding whatsoever.

Worth considering if you're so inclined.
