I'm pretty artistic being autistic (haha !) but this one has me stumped. Here is what I'm working from and it needs to be pretty small (I don't like big windows). HELP I ! The winner wins bugger all. Actually I may be able to manage a half chewed toffee or a big kiss...
Just some advice here. I have one of these cases, and that is no easy thing you're trying. The side is a complex curve, and there's not a flat point anywhere in it to anchor to. Anything you do will have to deal with that. I chose to delete the window for my plans and just armor in the sides fully. It's not impossible, but you'd need to do something like heat bending the acrylic to match.
I would probably make the window from glass it's easy to get the exact shape I would make a mould and slump it in a kiln and you can get all colours in 3mm glass
Due to the size of the window it really isn't that bad tbh. I would imagine that 3M double sided tape could easily hold it in shape. I've been looking at forming temps on acrylic and it seems the forming temp is 190-200c. I can always put the side panel into the oven with the acrylic on top and wait for it to form. I'm not too worried atm as I may negate to fit a window.
I've done a bit of heat forming Perspex in the kiln first thing I found was as it's not got a lot of weight so it doesn't slump to well although you only need a small amount of slumping, 2nd keep an eye on it too much heat and it bubbles
Yeah I'll probably start at 170c and watch it from there.... It only needs to bend slightly, and that's only if it won't stay put with 3M double sided. I want the option of changing the window colour to suit the lighting colour on the PC (which is RGB so any colour you wish really). The sheet was £2.50. No doubt if it holds OK I'll buy red, green, etc. The side fans won't be visible as per the pic I'll be using some sort of dust filter as I've noticed lately that insects tend to like the white LED on the Corsair block
If you want varying colours depending on what your LEDs are, why not use acrylic that's slightly opaquely white. That way it'll catch the colour of the LEDs and not have to change it when you fancy a different shade.
