I'm doing one of these Andes to Amazon mountain bike trips later this year (camping in the mountains and in the jungle!), I own a nice shiny Sony Cybershot but just looking at the thing I know it wouldnt survive very long in a backpack , it take a sony non standard battery etc.

So I'm looking for any pointers on something that...

    - is cheap £100-£150
    - takes SD cards (I'd cry if my 4gb duo's got screwed in the humidity)
    - takes standard batterys (AA, AAA type of thing)
    - wont break the 1st time I drop it ;)

Personally I'd recommend a Nikon Coolpix L2, as it fits your description and we've got 5 of them at work, which are abused daily by 16-24 year olds and are yet to break.
