I'm looking for something for a custom case mod.

Basically I need a tube, preferably aluminium the sort of shape of a kitchen bin.

However I need it to be around about 14 inches in diameter (or more) and about 20 inches long.

Something like a beer keg would be great but I don't want the ridges they generally have in the middle!

A kiten bin would be okay because I'll cut off the ends but I'd prefer something more like a keg!

I will of course keep searching for myself but any help would be great!

    cheers

I would go to a welding shop and custom order the tube, they will TIG weld it and the weld will not be visible if you want.Would probably be in the +-$75 range in alu. :thumb:
I used to make those in steel ,a good shop will have a machine to roll any metal sheet, then weld the two ends and bingo a tube :D .

yah kobalt has the right solution. Most any fab shop would be easily able to roll a piece of sheet metal into what ever size you want. If your cheep you could have them just tack weld it and you could rivet it together or what not.
That or start looking through maybe furniture magizines or the likes for trash bins. The problem is unless your lax you probably can't find exactly what you want, and to get things without ribs etc in the right size would be hard.

I did look at bins, but couldn't find one with a big enough diameter, I'd have no problem using a stainless steel bin but it needs to fit a motherboard, PSU, DVD-RW, Graphics/Sound Cards, Cables and still have room for fans and heatsinks.

Soo basically something a foot and a half across.

EDIT: I forget that a friend of mine recently started a design and engineering course and they have rollers there so things are looking up :D
