Right, I've just been reminded that I'm running a table quiz tonight - crap... I'm frantically throwing together questions but the picture round especially is giving me difficulty. I'm trying to think of famous people who've been dressed as monsters/aliens (jim carrey as the grinch, deniro as frankenstein, etc to get a round somewhat different from the usual celeb shots, but I'm running out of famous people. Anybody got any ideas? (Target age range is late teens/early twenties) Oh, and if anyone happens to have a full round/quiz saved on their hard drive for some reason feel free to drop me an email! Cheers guys
Tim Curry - frankenfurter (Rocky Horror) The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) - Doom, The Scorpion King Nick Frost - Shaun of the Dead (zomdie at the end) Gary Oldman - Bram stokers Dracula Brandon Lee - The Crow Christopher Lee - Dracular Prince of Darkness (old film but people should know him) you should be able to get pictures of here if you need them http://www.imdb.com/ I cant think of any more at the moment, but Im sure I will come up with some more.
Famous people's mug shots are always amusing for quizes if you're struggling for monster shots, a decent selection can be found here: http://www.jonhs.com/mugshots/index.htm Though googling will obviously find you more.
Awesome guys, keep em coming. Anyone know any other ideas for an unusual/entertaining quiz round? The last one that was run at this place had a good one - "You don't know jack", each question was about someone called jack - bauer, sparrow, etc
Here's a few: Cillian Murphy - Scarecrow (Batman Begins) Christian Bale - Batman (Batman Begins) - In both case use the drug enduce nightmare images the two characters Tommy Lee Jones - Harvey "Two Face" Dent (Batman Forever) Gary Oldman - Dracula as an Old Man (Bram Stoker's Dracula) Tom Cruise - Old / Injured LeStat (Interview with a Vampire) Ron Perlman - HellBoy (HellBoy) David Naughton - David Kessler in Wolf Mode (American Warewolf In London) Christopher Walken - Hessian / Headless Horseman (Sleepy Hollow) Michael J. Fox - Scott Howard in Wolf Mode (Teen Wolf) Jeff Goldblum - Seth Brundle / Brundlefly (The Fly) Bill Nighy - Davy Jones (POTC - Dead Mans Chest)
Michael Keaton - BeetleJuice/Batman (Batman/Batman Returns) Bruce Cambell - Deadite Ash/Evil Ash (Evil Dead/Army of Darkness) / Elvis (Buba Hotep) Mike Myers - Cat in the Hat Sylvester Stallone - Judge Dredd Mark Hamil - Bug creature (Guyver 1 (aka Mutronics)) Peter Weller - Robocop Kelsey Grammer Fraiser - Hank McCoy/Beast (X-Men 3) Keither Sutherland - Vampire (Lost Boys) Arnold Vosloo - Imhotep (The Mummy/ Mummy Returns) John Candy - Barf the Mog (Spaceballs) Liam Neeson - Darkman Jerri Ryan (StarTrek's 7of9) - Vampire (Dracula 2001) Robert England - Freddy Kruger (Nightmare on Elm Street) Robert Patrick - T1000 (Terminator 2)
Well, to see if they are true Horror fans, why not go way back and have pictures of Bela Lugosi or Boris Karlof? Or how about the actors who play Freddy, or the Leprechaun? I think a bonus question for Mark Hamil would be what voices has he played? He's been in a lot of good and bad animations as bad guys. He was also the "bad guy" in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Don't forget the Michael Crawford in Phantom of the Opera. Technicaly not a monster but a good one for the elder people taking the quiz.
It's not aimed specifically at horror/sci-fi/fantasy buffs, I just fancied a change from the norm. Any other round suggestions? I'm going all covers for the music round, maybe a word meaning along with the normal film/tv, general knowledge, science ones.
while it may not be horror they did play "monsters" Peter Boyle - Young Frankstein Gene Wilder - Dr Frankenstien
