I want to buy a short-throw projector and after a little research shortlisted these:

    - Dell 1201MP
    - BenQ MP512ST
    - Viewsonic PJ513DB

Any recommendations? What should I consider beyond?

    my 2 pence worth,

Dell tend to rebrand another brand of device, i.e like there printers.

The last Dell projector i got near was a portable unit ment for office presentations hooked up to a laptop. Ideally used for short term use like an hour or two at most as this thing generated heat like an industrial space heater, it deformed a coke bottle with in 10min placed by its main exhaust. Plus it was noisy as hell.

It wasn't a faulty one either, it was what is was..

Image quality was good, considering it was SVGA, i think personally i would look at the BenQ MP512ST, i have heard good things about there projectors, but i am no expert on these devices.

How short, and how big an image are you looking to project? What kind of images? Games? Movies? Powerpoint presentations?
