Hi, well before I did a format last week Warcraft 3 for some reason was playing up on my system, when I clicked to play the screen went black and my monitor's power on/off switch was flashing and nothing would show up, It confused me as I've played this game for ages and never had a problem. I re installed it a hand full of times and still the same.

I did a format as I hadn't done one (also thinking it would clear up this problem) for a while and stripped my raptors in RAID0. Anyway its been a week everything is fine, in CSS i changed my resolution and bam, its happened to that. Very annoying.

Re installed it (deleted the folder from program files) and still no luck, been playing this game fine all week too.

If anyone has any idea's please let me know ASAP, cheers.

EDIT: Just re installed drivers, no luck.

Also all other games work fine except Counter Strike Source now, just like what happened to Warcraft 3.

I have 6800 Ultra cards in SLI, I have tryed without SLI enabled also, still no luck.

what make / model of monitor? what OS and driver version?

what resolution was it working at, and what resolution did you change to?

Have you access to another monitor to try?

Try taking one of the 6800's out of the system, and re-loading the graphics driver - if same problem, try the other. (note I don't really think this will achieve anything, but sometimes the solution to a logical problem is illogical)

Golygus, thanks. It was the monitor.

It was Viewsonic VX922? The 2ms one.

Glad its the monitor and not the graphic cards thats for sure.

So just my Sony 19 inch XBlack LCD till it gets repaired, this monitor is so much better in terms of quality, but at 12 ms its horrible for gaming!

The symptom you describe happens when the monitor is asked to display a resolution (and refresh rate) that is outside of its range.

Exactly my thoughts, Nexxo. I found that on an XP machine, I had to go into safe mode and remove the monitor from the Device Manager to get it to display the desktop again.
