Linux Help "nuking" a HDD in linux please (HP N40L with OMV)!

    Ola!

    I dropped a used HDD into my Proliant N40L (running OpenMediaVault) and can see it in the "physical discs" table, however I want to create a filesystem on it and mount it but am unable - it doesn't appear when I click on "Create" in the "Filesystems" menu.

    I guess it needs "nuking" - erasing, partitioning or whatever.

    Can someone guide me through this from either in OMV or from a Linux command line. The disc is sitting on the SDA channel if that matters.
