    Hi guys!

I’m thinking of doing a light OC of my i5 750, say to 3.3Ghz. However, as you can see in my sig, I run a ITX system, and though the SG07-B is great for cooling for an ITX (180mm Air Penetrator on the top), I do have to be mindful of the GPU temps as they can get rather high in certain games (BFBC2). My CPU heatsink is right next to my GPU, so any large increase in heat in my CPU will affect my GPU temps as well.

I was wondering. If I OC the GPU by raising the multiplier to 21 (from 20) and the core frequency to 155mhz (from 133mhz) but keep the voltage the same (previously had this chip at 3.6Ghz on another board without a voltage increase so should be ok), will I still see a large heat increase?

Basically, what I’m asking is: if you do a light OC without increasing the voltage, are you still going to see significantly higher thermals?

A small overclock shouldn't raise temps too much, but raising the multiplier with turbo enabled may be a little pointless as it should reach these speeds anyway on a single thread.

I'd recommend downloading Argus Monitor so you can study the behaviour of your cpu's turbo modes and temps with different applications running to see if overclocking is really worthwhile.

Also worth noting that some motherboards will raise the auto voltage by themselves when overclocking, often overcompensating for what the processor actually needs. you can check this with CPUz.
