Hi all switched from set-up in my sig to:

    MSI Z87 G45
    Pentium K anniversary 3.2ghz
    [IMG]

    no GPU installed right now

At first it wouldnt display anything, then eventually i got to windows once but it crashed and I couldnt get it back there
I can get into BIOS but if i change anything and save changes and re-boot i get a blank screen

I went into the BIOS and enabled windows 8/8.1 compatibility but it doesnt work still

At the moment if I don't go into BIOS and just try to boot normally i only get this:

I have no idea about any of this stuff. Last time I switched mobo and CPU from an old AM2 to the set-up in my sig it worked instantly with no fiddling.

    Please help!

Have you reinstalled Windows or are you trying to boot to your old AMD install?

BIOS is as littlepuppi sent it, i think he said it might need flashing.

I haven't reinstalled windows since i transferred, is that likely to be the problem?

If so I need to get a win 8.1 pro disk off my friend.

I have the key not the disc.

My bad looks like MS in their wisdom decided not to provide 8.1 pro ISO's.

Thanks everyone. Will be getting on with this. Spoke to a friend and he said in no unclear terms that I must reinstall winders. Had no idea! What a pain in the arse, seriously.
    Will keep you all updated

Of course you need to reinstall Windows, fella. It's configured for an entirely different system. If it were an AMD swap, it would've most likely been fine; but going from AMD to Intel... no chance whatsoever.

For what it's worth, those fans on the cooler are the wrong way around too. ;)

Yes - the system will be very sad if you don't reinstall the OS - good luck :)

I find it gives me better temps dragging air through the mobo then the cooler as opposed to pushing warm air into the RAM and mobo.

I'll update you all. Need an ISO for win 8.1 pro, lost my key so need to get my friend to give me it again. he has a record of it somewhere.

Assuming that the BIOS on that MSI board has a feature like ASUS boards do, the BIOS update is easy from a USB stick :thumb:

No joy, I don't know why I started a new thread but I'm nigh on giving up as I cant deal with this right now. If anyone has any ideas why it wont work then great.
Honestly at the end of my tether

remove all the HDD's except for the one you want windows on from the mobo. Clear the cmos, Then install/boot and see what happens.

Reading your screen grabs it looks like it doesnt know what hdd goes where in the mapping. Reset back to factory and just use 1 hdd would cause it to see the important one first!... well thats where I would start anyway.

have you also tried typing 'exit' to see if it closes the shell and boots?
