    Hi

I'm requesting your input for a personal project. I'm looking to compile a list of 'things' you might see in an office / work environment. Think 'eye spy' books and you'll kind of on the right track. Things can be physical objects, people, situations or whatever:

    EG:

    - Someone blagging through a discussion when they are out of their depth.
    - Someone attempting to end a phone call quickly.
    - Someone getting chewed out by an angry client
    - Someone panicking when they realise they have made an epic mistake

They can be as specific or as vague as you like.

    Help is much appreciated.

My office is pretty alternative (it was established by hippies :))

Usually see people wandering around in socks or bare feet.
People growing plants on their desks (not weed)
Occasionally a dog will run through the office from the kennels out the back

Lots of other random things happen that I can't think of right now :)

Someone thrust into a role as "somebody needs to do it" even though they have no idea about it, resulting in an ineffective and lackluster impact which annoys a whole bunch of people.

    - Someone chewing out a lazy supplier :thumb:

    Also:
    - Broken lighting (Bonus if it's for more than two weeks)
    - The manager who is never in
    - The store cupboard thief
    - The food thief
    - The cyclist
    - Someone with a desk so messy you can't see the surface
    - Someone who is always on ebay/facebook/amazon
    - People complaining about the latest IT updates
    - The phrase "work smarter, not harder"

(the more time I spend in the office, the more I realise Dilbert isn't a comic strip. It's a documentary)

Let's see what I can find around the office...

    • Unidentifiable stains on the floor.
    • Unidentifiable food waste in the sink/bin.
    • Dried up exploded food bits in the microwave.
    • Leftover food in the break room refrigerator. Bonus points if the food is so old it has become sentient.
    • Security escorting someone out the door.
    • Clich√© motivational posters.
    • Undervalued cleaning staff.

Couple of other I forgot about

Every Friday we have a BBQ, whatever the weather. I once cooked one in a blizzard, which was fun.

On Tuesdays you can get a massage - from the Finance Director's wife (please don't say anything about happy endings).

Easy to guess where I work...
    • A working collection of Apple computers and associated storage media going back 20 years.
    • About a hundred pens and pencils of different thickness's and types.
    • An A0 drafting machine; scales, squares, curves, and etcetera.
    • An A3 scanner/printer/copier/fax (who even uses fax any-more?!?) - variety Brother.
    • An A0 roll printer - variety HP.
    • Miscellaneous piles of paper and card - all in their correct places.
    • Scalpels and Stanley-knives of various types.
    • Models of buildings and contours.
    • Samples of window and door sections, slate, stone, tile and etcetera.
    • A wood burning stove.
Architects office right? Now it starts to get a little odd...

    • Old wooden skis and poles.
    • Old (willow?) fishing rods.
    • An upright piano.
    • Planes - jack and moulding.
    • A .22 air rifle, a bow and arrows.
    • A chain morticer.
    • Welding goggles.

Putting 2 and 2 together. You're in Scotland and you have a gun and a bow with arrows. I'd guess it is possibly a customer facing job.
