Im building a case from scratch, i have all tools avaliable (and laser cutters) this is the general design for the case: http://www.darkvirus999-graphics.co.nr/pclayout.jpg if any1 could help me with a way of making the case itself.
Welcome to the forums. I'd start with a frame made out of aluminum. A lot of guys make theirs out of angle aluminum and rivits which seems to work ok. Others like to glue it which works too. Then you can just get sheets of aluminum and make your side panels. Not so sure of the front design though, what are all of those things (that look like stealthed drives) for?
yes they are stealthed, large 2 on right are cd drive bays below it is intendended to be a bay for a floppy drive or card reader. the top left is for a display i have and the one below it is for a fan controller
First things first, get some (detailed) scale drawings on the scene. I don't know what all the cool kids are using these days, but I have experience with AutoCAD.
well i can use autocad well but not got it innstalled atm, i could do with sum ideas on how to build the frame. im thinking of making a cube fram which i can then bolt the faces to. i will be usin 1-3mm thick aluminium for the faces an not sure what to use for the frame. some ppl have said to use lengths of angle but that might get aquard getting all the ends to alight neetly
Look at some of the cases on bit-tech. A lot of them use the angle aluminum frames and they have various ways of building them of various difficulties.
kk i just downloaded google sketchup here is the file if u want to look at in more detail (not to scale) http://www.darkvirus999-graphics.co.nr/PCcase.skp (should right-click save as)
you should plan out the inside. thats really important. Not quite understanding what you need help with? just to make me drool, can you post some pics of your workshops(S?)
would like 2 but its not at my house, its the workshop in my dads business so i'll be spending all my time there soon on the case
