If you are worried about brake bias, the adjusters are easy enough to fit. I know nothing about cars really... I wouldn't know about brake fade unless it slid out and wrapped me around a tree. Also... E30 s2000 power. Should be v.interesting with that engine helping weight distribution. Personally, I would never buy this sort of custom conversion. Better done yourself or a common mod.
Don't get me wrong - ill be running the standard calipers for at least another 18 months, my budget for the car is presently involved in fixing things that had been bogged by previous owners, but the six pots seem a common step up for regular rs trackers, as apparently the standards just don't hack it - which I'm sure ill find out for myself eventually.
I think you'd be better off learning to drive a less powerful, well handling car to the edge. By the time you are out driving the car, you'll have the cash to get another one to expand your skills. Almost all my HPDE time has been in cars I would have scoffed at, until I was out there pushing them hard. An S2000 is overkill unless you have really mastered something like an MX5 or an MR2.
Driven a few options now and nothing has grabbed me...so still looking, but I am not convinced that at the moment my budget is going to meet my expectations so might need a rethink. I didn't realise how hard it would be NOT to compare a 5-10k cars to the other cars/track cars I've had. Will keep you posted, some great feedback and comments though - thanks all!
Would be interested to get more info on it, goggling - Budget is theoretically flexible assuming wife doesn't find out.
So after hundreds of test drives, more cowboys than Texas. I finally took the plunge on a E46 M3 Club Sport Individual SMG II... It needs some TLC to make it showroom, only had it a week and its already in the garage List of things (to start) New Clutch and Flywheel being fitted Pump refurb Alloy refurb Body work is in very good condition, but needs detailing and few light scuffs taken out Air Con serviced, if its not ice its broke Full stealth ice installation done. The list will grow...
Good luck with it! SMGII is a good choice for a track car, very solid boxes for the most part. I'd have a manual for the road, but on track they make perfect sense.
Thanks once I get it back from the clutch , flywheel and pump I'll get it detailed and get some proper pictures up!!
