Hi, I am about to start my case-mod see thread, but I am concerned about how and what tools I need to make the blowholes. I need 2x 120mm blowholes for an h100i (can you get a stencil for this?) I need 2x92mm blowholes for the 2x 92mm intake fans. I will be cutting through thin metal and/or plastic (an xbox case) and I currently have a dremel. I have looked at holesaw attachments for a drill but the only ones I can find are 89mm, 102mm and 127mm, are there any 120mm attachments or other tools you would reccomend. Thanks, atc95
thanks, any idea where you can get one in the UK, I can find loads of 127mm but that's too big, also for the h100i do you just use 2x 120mm blowholes next to each other or is there spacing between them (thinking there is spacing as radiator is 275mm long).
240 rad temps mount the fans see what the spacing is between the 2 fans google and see if you got a BSS know they do them but try builders or plumbers merchants
cool, while I am on the topic of templates, does anyone know an accurate mini itx template, I am trying to do all the power tool work now and then fitting in a week or two (along with the project log!). Also what do I need to attach the hole saw to my drill? It's a black and decker h501 10mm drill
You can by the hole saw attachment in wicks with the pilot bit. You only need one as it fits all the cutters.
Found this for 114mm: 114mm and one of these for the 92mm: this or this. So I just need something like this to attach everything to my drill? Sorry for all the noob questions but this is my first mod so don't want any screw ups
Yep thats spot on. All the right bits. And the good thing is that all the fitting are universal so are compatible with one another in most cases.
Another quick question, what drill bit (diameter) do I need for M3 screws and motherboard standoffs and can I use a dremel attachment as I have a workstation stand for my dremel so it will be a lot steadier than a drill?
The dremel attachment I am looking at has diameter 3.2mm, I'm guessing that is M3 with a bit of clearance?
yep there loads of tap guides on web just remember slow and easy don't force trying to get done in a hurry with something that small they can snap easy
so what is easier to use as I already have this for my dremel or should I invest in a hole saw and arbor? All the web guides say you can use a dremel (but takes time) or a hole saw or a jig saw, I have no idea which is best.
